Odontographics — Journal of Evidence-Based Dental Infographics
Aims and Scope
Odontographics is a peer-reviewed, open access journal dedicated to publishing visual scientific articles in dentistry, hereafter referred to as Odontographics. Each publication — an Odontographic — is a carefully designed infographic derived from a peer-reviewed scientific paper, selected for its relevance and potential to communicate dental research in a clear, visual, and accessible format.
Our mission is to democratize scientific knowledge by transforming high-quality dental evidence into visual pieces that inform, educate, and inspire.
We invite submissions from:
- Dental students
- Licensed dentists
- Academic institutions
- Scientific student societies
- Professional associations
Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
- General dentistry
- Oral public health and promotion
- Oral-systemic health relationships
- Dentistry for special populations (children, older adults, pregnancy, etc.)
- Dental materials, innovation, and digital technologies

The original paper must be cited in Vancouver style, including DOI, and this citation must appear clearly within the infographic.
4. Author’s Note (required)
A paragraph (≤100 words) explaining:
- Why the article was selected
- Its significance in the field
- The reason for translating it into a visual format
Authorship and Supervision
- At least one author must be a dental student, recent graduate, or licensed dentist.
- If the submission is led by a student, a licensed dentist must act as co-author and supervisor.
- Supervisors must provide a formal letter of supervision, indicating the infographic title and the names of supervised students.
- Student authors must attach a valid certificate of enrollment from their academic institution.
Ethical and Editorial Standards
We uphold the highest standards of scientific integrity. Infographics are considered original derivative works, similar to narrative reviews.
- Plagiarism, data misrepresentation, or undeclared third-party content will result in immediate rejection.
- All infographics must be original creations. Reproducing tables, figures, or diagrams from the source article is prohibited unless under open license or with explicit permission.
- Use of AI-assisted tools (design, writing) is allowed but must be clearly disclosed and cannot replace critical interpretation.
- We believe honesty is foundational to scientific communication and expect submissions to reflect this value.
